Old monitors and high pitch whine

All right new montiors! I mean dang I hate when tech craps out. :D I've been waiting for an excuse to add a couple new LCD's for trading. Went to buy one a week or two ago and missed out on a great sale. Thanks for the HansG review, I was thinking about them, as they seem to be on sale alot. I'll probably stick with Dell, Samsung or LG's. So far good luck with them.

Sure, one more tip. I was reading the Hyundai monitors, use Samsung parts so you might bargain hunt for them. Nice deal on tigerdirect 22" for 160ish. In fairness to Hanns G they have a 3 year warranty.

Samsung LCD monitors are good. I have a couple of them and like them.

But I would advice against LG. I have one LG 22-inch LCD monitor. It has some kind of flickering issue. The screen is not static. Always a bit jumpy. I plugged that in to different computers and the same problem persisted so it is the monitor problem.

I had posted another note about my LCD monitor experience: Envision is the best. Samsung is good. ViewSonic is good. AMW (less known brand) is okay. Acer is good.

Ya know, I thought about that after my original post. The sad fact is that even the most trusted and reputable recyclers end up shipping junked PCs and CRTs to rural China anyway.

I'm not sure there's much you can do about it. Asking where they ship things, or researching them on google doesn't matter. It's all about money.

Sometimes I think it'd be more eco-friendly (and human-friendly) to just bury them in the woods somewhere.

Where I live, the county's Solid Waste Disposal Dept. holds electronic equipment recycling days. I'm hoping they dispose of it responsibly, but, as you say, you never know.

I get an intermittent high-pitched whine, also.
Sounds like this:

"Are you gonna watch those charts all day?"
"That's gambling, that's all it is"
Etc, etc...:)

That is actually one of the funniest posts I've seen here.
