Check my thread. I posted shortly after CPI was released. Did I know? No, but I focus on the big picture and we will see a lot more downside, a lot. But all at its predestined time...

Because if the inflation numbers hadn't come in bad it would not have happened. I.E. today's drop is a result of unexpected inflation news, not become of some prior price action that shows up on a chart with squigglies on it.

Unexpected inflation? Are you really that naive? BTW, spx dropped another 100 points after the cpi reading. If you are incapable of capturing that then even someone telling you everything beforehand won't give you an edge.

Really? You did not see continuous high inflation being the most likely outcome with sizable risk of even higher inflation? I am long dollar short Euro and short equities for months now. Have talked about it in numerous threads. But it's not about me, it's that this current climate has been 90% predictable and it will get worse.

No one saw today's CPI report drop coming. Nothing but a bunch of gamblers bragging. Laugh today, Cry tomorrow -- and get nowhere, or lose.
If traders could truly, consistently, predict the future and trade it....they would be rich. But those clowns ain't rich.

The best trade of the day is buying/shorting around 10...and selling around 10:50.
Do this, more or less, every day, relatively consistently....this is where the true gold is at,...capture that one major, obvious, move of the day of the chart,

Prices other than gasoline and property prices all keep going up. I see no shipping costs that are reduced to end clients. We are in a cash and grab cycle of the elites and corporations. Everyone else is bleeding. You should go shopping more often...

No one saw this coming. Gas prices falling. Shipping rates falling. Supply constraints easing.

My ponder is how is sensitive data like this and earnings and such kept private. The info is worth $10's of millions of dollars at a min. Has to be a whole industry around snarking financial data.

I'm amazed how food prices keep going higher. Even Organic dairy here in the SF Bay Area keeps rising which is strange since by definition these products are local. I don't understand why they would go up at all. Even some chips I used to buy went from $1.80 to $3.00 in the last 6 months.

And it keeps going. Local CA produce I guess is also drought related? I could be wrong. But needless to say pretty much everything keeps on going up. And it has not stopped in the past 2 or 3 months...

I caught the melt down. The estimates I looked at had CPI higher, projected the move down NQ -450+ pts based on what happened last month.

Out of curiosity, would you be willing to share your entries and exits for this trade? How long before the report came out were you positioned? Was it multiple entries and exits? Was there a game plan for if it went the other way? I would love to see a chart with the entries marked, if you don't mind sharing of course.

Don't get me wrong, not questioning your PnL at all, just would like to visualize what goes into pulling 20k of profits in one day.
