OK, I am throwing in the towel to the Futures/Commodities pits

For weeks I have been thinking of giving up trading index futures and futures in general. I gave it a try and for months it bled me dry. Today was the final straw of being stopped out and in general, being right or wrong. I am down about $300 and changed IB data subscription so I won't even be tempted to trade this poison. Futures are addictive and like heroin, when stocks are like a Reefer buzz. I tried to trade long Gold today and it took $250 from me. I am done, smarter to keep on fighting to bleed even more.
It is hard to trade a good swing when there is none. In tight ranges, I m up against algo bots who are better financed and in general less emotional and much FASTER.

Trading stock to futures is not apples to apples compare ! with stock max leverage overnight 1:1 , with Futures you are are using much more than that
Simple fact.. how can you complain when you are playing a fast game!

I am not complaining! I am merely stating a fact that I will no longer operate in the futures market because its leverage is not safe enough for me. I have no stomach for it, it is more gambling than trading. The fact that many people like it or making money is irrelevant to me, many people can count cards in blackjack, I cannot. The same principle! This is my last post on this.

Ok understood ... just sounded like a complaint initially.... my misunderstanding

If you find it that addictive, changing the data subscription could have been a great idea for you.

I have also tried using leverage in the futures market but it didn’t prove to be that profitable for me. I am better off trading Forex.

? what is the difference? if you are using the leverage in FX then it is same! + with FX you have a disadvantage of not playing in a true exchange most of FX "Brokers" are likely to be OTC!
