I think that there was a solution by burying it but BP was screwing around trying to figure a way to catch the oil so they wouldn't have to start another well from scratch. Just my hunch.
NASA has labs all over the country partially dedicated to fluid dynamics. I know because I worked for them. Why haven't they been tasked to do research in this area and many other areas vital to our country's well being?
