Oh yes, there are so many job openings...

You are really out of touch with reality.

Talk to HR departments about decent job opening, talk to headhunters, and ask them how many resumes they get...

More people are out of work, and are unable to find decent work than the right wingers like you will admit to...

Quote from John_Wensink:

There are jobs out there but they aren't advertised and they are higher level positions. The problem is most firms do not want to hire those that are unemployed, they want to take the employed from other firms.

The lower level positions are not being added first and foremost because nobody knows what the hell the fallout from these giant deficits, tax increases and healthcare will look like.

If you are looking for a job in financial services look at the companies that were largely unaffected by the financial crisis. Look for custodian firms.

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

Reminiscent of Sarah Palin's daughter who got pregnant after hearing her mother preach about he glory of abstinence...

Why is it that the right wingers have children who act against the preaching of their parents?

Perhaps the children see through the hypocrisy...

You are seriously an idiot. Like left wingers children obey everything their parents tell them. You really do walk through life with blinders on, dont you?

Quote from Lucrum:

...You (OPTIONAL777) didn't answer my question earlier.
Is it politically correct for YOU to be stereotyping?

I'll take your silence as a yes, but obviously admitting it would expose your unabashed hypocrisy.

Or maybe you're just liberal trash. You like throwing the word "trash" around, don't you?

The hook is now fully set...

Unemployment benefits should only be paid to those who worked for companies that paid into the benefit fund. The one time (3 months) out of my entire life I collected unemployment, I got a note in the mail explaining how much my salary had paid into the fund and how much I was due. It explained, quite effectively, that I was entitled to an amount per check for a period of time. After that, I was on my own.

END OF STORY.

If I had my benefits run out, there would have been two choices at that time:

FIND WORK
or
STARVE

The fact that I can go down to my local Chik-fil-a and see "Help Wanted" means that people just aren't accepting the work at a certain level. And that's fine. With my current salary, I'd find it demeaning and insulting to have to work for minimum wage. But you know what? When faced with the termination of my benefits and feeding my family? "Would you like fries with that?" would become my personal catch phrase.

We continue to extend these benefits, and continue to pile on the debt, raise taxes for those of us who DO work. Let them expire. They've been extended how many times now?

Now, stating that, I also agree with the OPs comment regarding how much we spend for various countries of the world. That needs to stop too. Until we get our own house in order, spending money on anyone but ourselves is asinine.
