A good deal of those regulations in Dodd-Frank actually passed on tons of costs to the little guy. I'd be cautious in claiming they were protecting your average Joe. You want to make markets safer and protect the little guy a bit more? How about reinstating Glass Steagall that Clinton repealed.

By separating banking from prop trading, it kept commercial banks as places where money was safe to be kept.
That's fine, but Clinton repealed the act (it happened under his Presidency). That's all I said.
Okay, just as long as we understand that it was slipped into a 3000-page omnibus bill at the last minute by a Republican-led Congress during Clinton's lame-duck session.
