Trump claims women who confronted Sen. Flake in elevator were ‘paid professionals’

U.S. President Donald Trump took to Twitter Friday to bash the two women who confronted Republican Sen. Jeff Flake in the elevator last week — calling them paid professionals.
Story continues below

The two women, who said they are sexual assault survivors, stopped Flake on his way to Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination hearing on Sept. 28. Flake said he was going to vote in favour of Kavanaugh’s nomination, who has been accused of sexual assault by California professor Christie Blasey Ford.

One of the two protesters who confronted Flake in the elevator is Ana Maria Archila, an executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD). The other protester, Maria Gallagher, is an activist with the group. The CPD is indeed heavily funded by George Soros through the Open Society Foundation.

“You are telling all women they don’t matter … that they should just stay quiet. That’s what you’re telling all of these women in America, that they don’t matter,” one of the women said through tears.

But Trump said the women are professionals paid by billionaire investor and liberal donor, George Soros.

“The very rude elevator screamers are paid professionals looking to make Senators look bad. Don’t fall for it! Also, look at all of the professionally made identical signs. Paid for by Soros and others. These are not signs made in the basement from love!” Trump tweeted.

The very rude elevator screamers are paid professionals only looking to make Senators look bad. Don’t fall for it! Also, look at all of the professionally made identical signs. Paid for by Soros and others. These are not signs made in the basement from love! #Troublemakers

The women who confronted Flake were Maria Gallagher and Ana Maria Archila, sexual assault survivors who are now being hailed as activists who may be “changing the course of history.”

Archila, a Queens resident, is the co-executive director at the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD), an organization that works toward creating an “inclusive, equitable society” by advocating for “communities of colour, immigrants, working families, youth, women and the LGBTQ community.”

I don't see a single mainstream outlet reporting the bolded.....tons of right wing blogs and tabloids though. C'mon Vanz, look who's making the accusation.

Are you claiming that you don't believe these are the identity of these two women in the elevator? Seriously? After they wrote editorials in the NY Times, Washington Post, etc. After their organizations proudly supported what they did.

I'm not denying their identity; don't be daft. I'm questioning the implication that they're Soros agents via their employer (aka paid actresses as suggested). The story has no legs.

Here's the kicker though, even if they had a history of being democrats and active politically, they still could've been abused. Hell, one can even argue their activism to their history of abuse. After all, don't recovering addicts and sexual victims usually run similar support groups?

What's worse, even if a Soros link exist to the group (which is the meat of the matter), this is America and anyone can do as they god damn please with their money. How many foundations are going to be deemed "unclean" because billionaire philanthropists with an opinion have donated to them?

I am in disbelief that you are even trying to make a claim that both of these organizations (Center for Popular Democracy and Ultraviolet) are not funded by Soros after all the mainstream media has articles stating explicitly they are funded & backed by Soros and the press releases of the two organizations also state so.

Let's take a look an article by the BBC (Yes, even overseas they know that Soros funds these organizations).

Kavanaugh confirmation: What Trump's 'elevator screamers' tweet tells us
BBC article link - https://tinyurl.com/y7yj2g77

"Soros drew Mr Trump's attention in this case perhaps because he supports the Center for Popular Democracy and Ultraviolet, which not only helped put together the protest but also (in a press release that has since been deleted from their website) claimed Archila and Gallagher as members."

Either one of them could decide to be a swing vote if they truly are concerned about it. Don't count on it.

Yeh. One of the foreigner clowns here had the audacity yesterday to suggest that Ginsburg has never expressed a political thought or action while on the court. In fact, there are not enough hours in the day to quote every poltical statement that leftwing hack nutjob has made.

Don't count on her being the swing vote any time soon. The only time she will not be be advancing her left wing causes is when she is dead, and even then it is is debateable.
