Odds McCabe stepped down to bear witness in Mueller's investigation?

Why? Because Mueller has a death wish or something?
Mueller is up to his arse trying to distance himself from having had Strzok on his team, so you are thinking he needs to start trying to make his case with McCabe. Might want to wait a little before speculating that a guy who is under investigaton by the FBI and the Inspector General will make a useful witness.
Of course, this is to say I AM ALL FOR IT.
Try charging Trump with obstruction and McCabe will be there as a witness for sure, under subpoena. A WITNESS FOR THE DEFENSE.
And yes, Comey leaked info and mouthed off after he left, which led to an investigation that is now damaging Trump but also destroying the entire legacy of his time at the FBI and all the corrupt stuff that has gone on there. Not the smartest move in the world. His original plan was to just sit back and write poetry and teach a few college courses and watch Mueller defend his reputation and everything that the FBI did. OOPS!. Mueller is too busy gasping for air and defending his own bone headed biased staff to try to defend the FBI.

It may be a while before we see the outcome of it- as with Mueller- but with all that is going on, it is easy to forget that Sessions opened an investigation of the Clinton Foundation and it is being handled by the U.S. Attorney in Arkansas where the Clinton Foundation also has offices. If Sessions were handling it, it would probably go away in one of his sleepy periods, but I doubt that it will happen with the Arkansas U.S. Attorney because that office opened an investigation once before and Obama killed it and so they are looking forward to settling that old score, in the same way that the Inspector General is getting even for having been threated by Obama's folks that Hillary would dump him if he did not back off because Hillary was allegedly set to be elected.
This will be another pantload of material to be unloaded right as Mueller does his dump.
You wont hear about it for a long time, and then you will. I believe the military would refer to the Clinton Foundation as "a target rich environment."
But yeh, watch out for Arkancide for sure.

Not sure that is going to happen. It would if there were not so much scrutiny going on. Rosenstein would take care of it but he is too busy surviving himself right now. And Comey and Loretta are not there so it is harder to get a good HQ Special going these days. Damn. That's gotta hurt.
I think he was forced to step down after the FISA memo came to light.

It was expected that McCabe would hang on until early March, when he would become eligible for his full pension. It's unclear why he's choosing to step down early.

What investigation are you referring to that does not and has not involved the IG and is separate from the IG's investigation?
