Odds Czar: Simple Biases In the Futures Market: 2008

Art's futures biases for Mar 20.

A "1" means bullish bias. A "-1" means bearish bias. The total is the sum of biases. A positive sum will be long bias. A negative sum will be a short bias. A sum of zero will be a neutral bias.

For Thursday, the currencies are showing a solid buy bias. The indices are mixed, but the majority signals are bearish in the Nasdaq and Russell. While a sharp down close tends to be deceptive if it goes off near low tick, which Wednesday did, I'm thinking selling pressure is not about to abate on a dime. My selling strategy will be to wait until the low end of the opening range is decisively taken out.

Monday provides another interesting example of how the market moves decisively, and then the CzarCharts become directionless for the next day. This is in line with the fact that huge single-directional moves in the indices are usually followed by considerably shallower, less trendy days that may actually prove to be whipsawing nightmares.
The best signal to follow for Tuesday will probably be the long side of the Japanese yen.

For Thursday, no complex has uncontested signals. I'm partial to the majority-rules short side of the indices, however, largely based on the multi-sell signals in the less-frequent box,
