Odds Czar: Simple Biases In the Futures Market: 2008

Art's futures biases for Nov 4.

A "1" means bullish bias. A "-1" means bearish bias. The total is the sum of biases. A positive sum will be long bias. A negative sum will be a short bias. A sum of zero will be a neutral bias.

The stock futures put in their first relatively normal performance in eight weeks on Monday. The S&P range was a not-shabby but not-over-the-top-crazy 17 points. Perhaps we're starting to move out of crisis mode finally, or maybe it's just being postponed through the election. In any event I'm going to feel fairly safe trading the index futures from the short side on Tuesday off some solidly bearish CzarChart readings.

Art, I've heard a few people say Fridays are normally bearish for the stock markets. I guess this is just a myth, according to your analyses?

it was true at one time. not lately. my guess is that the proliferation of funds neutralized the fear individual investors would have about staying long over a weekend.
