Quote from JamesL:
2. Pay for your own bailouts. A tax of 0.1 percent on all trades of stocks and bonds and a 0.01 percent tax on all trades of derivatives would generate enough revenue to pay us back for the bailouts, and still have plenty left over to fight the deficits the banks claim to be so worried about. It would also deter the endless chase for instant profits through computerized insider-trading schemes like High Frequency Trading, and force Wall Street to go back to the job it's supposed to be doing, i.e., making sober investments in job-creating businesses and watching them grow.
Maybe you both should take a look at who has paid back their TARP loans and who hasn't

Seems to me and just about everyone else, WS has repaid most of their loans with interest whereas those failed union enterprises are still very much in arrears.
Maybe add a tax/fee to all the new cars to help them pay for their own bailouts, right?

If we replaced capitalism with democracy:
â¢Everyone in society would be wealthy as a birth right
â¢You would get paid an income of at least $115,000 per year
â¢The work week could be cut in half
â¢People would no longer have to do menial work
â¢There would be no difference between work and play
â¢Interest would be eliminated which would cut your mortgage in half
â¢Crime would be virtually non-existent
â¢We could fast-track the transition to a green, renewable economy
â¢You would get paid to go to school, not the other way around
â¢There would be no such thing as recessions or unemployment
â¢And nearly every social problem we have would be gone

I would raise the fee on stock transactions to a much higher percentage. [/B]

Stupidity,
We all know you aren't a trader, but at least make some half-arsed effort try to act like one on ET. Or better yet, just stick to whatever sites you and other welfare queens frequent. It's obvious you aren't working or trading.
Oh, and you and the Occupy nuts are welcome for my taxpayer-supported assistance.
