what about a dream? would that count as an OBE?

let's say you talk to someone in your dream.

you weren't actually, physically there (wherever "there" is) talking to them, but you still "experienced" talking to someone.

so wouldn't that be a kind of OBE?


also, have any of you guys ever had the experience of realising you were dreaming whilst still in your dream?

i have. it's really cool. you're dreaming of something, then all of a sudden you think, hey man, this is just a dream.

and then you can actually decide what you want to do in your dream. that's very cool.
unfortunately, i have never managed to make the dream last for very long after i do this. as soon as i get some cool idea of what i want to do, i get a bit of the way through it, and then i wake up. :mad:

used to happen a lot when i was young. it would be almost a year since the last time i can remember it happening now. wish i knew how to do it every night!

Sleepwalking (somnambulism) is also an interesting topic. A person is unconscious, while asleep he can talk, dress, undress, eat, move around with avoiding obstacles or even drive a car!

Telekenesis: some people are able to move things or change the form of metallic objects like spoons without hands, using only their own electromagnetic field, fewer people can levitate.

Radiesthesia is more controversial topic. However I had one experience with this. Some time ago I've been in a place where I felt awful headache (never felt any that strong), when I left this place, it had gone.

I do believe in OBE's, but not in the pure sense of actually "leaving the body." I have had dreams that are intensely real (usually called lucid dreams). I've also had moments while drifting off to sleep where I felt my body rocking back and forth while accompanied by a weird metallic ringing sensation in my head.

I just view it as the brain reaching a certain frequency or possible mild pre-sleep seizures in certain parts of the brain. I don't think there is any disconnection of consciousness, but I do believe that the state is something other than normal waking consciousness, the dream state or pure sleep states.

Aphie it’s ok, the very same thing happened to a friend
they found out that the ringing noise was caused when his crash helmet the nurses make him wear, hit the computer's monitor as he slid off his chair in one of those moments of extreme out of body exuberations brought on by visiting certain "types" of web site.
Try switching to the yellow pills.... it worked for him :)
