Fair enough. But I did not see the announcement in my news feed until after my post. This being said this is an obvious situation where mayor's would demand the National Guard brought in.

Most white collar criminals are sentenced to decades for their crimes. For example Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years. All of his top henchmen got over 100 years in prison also.

The assertion that white collar criminals get short sentences usually does not play out in reality.

Keep in mind the intent of my post. Someone asked "why looting?" I responded with a google search term and an example link.

Wonderful. But we can all do google searches if we actually want to know the psychological theories behind why people loot. That's not the point of the discussion here.

Everyone can't formulate a 'good' google search. I'm pretty good at it, and I felt you probably weren't able to find what you were looking for via your own google search.

I didn't proffer a particular link for discussion. You came to me. You read the article, almost, and then questioned me on it. I hadn't read it nor commented on it ... until you asked me about it.

So in this case, yes, you have to read the article. But normally, I agree with you about people debating via hyperlinks.

I came to you? You quoted my post and responded to it with a link and an article. You came to me, sir/madam. I just responded to your response. That's what got us here to this pithy back and forth.

Yes, you came to me. After I provided the information you asked for, you came to me to discuss it. My initial "response" was only providing you a search phrase and link. I offered you no discussion. Rather than thanking me, you initiated this back and forth.

How often I visit here is irrelevant to the veracity of the discussion.

It is very relevant if you're going to try to get me to see your point by questioning my "credibility with you". As if that matters one iota.

I'm sure you'll find answers to your questions via that Google search I mentioned. But if you have a question for me, and I'm interest in answering, by all means, feel free to present it. Hopefully discussion will make us both better people.

I'm always interested in discussion that makes us better people. I just don't believe that starts with a google search. It should come from the people involved in the conversation - not regurgitated google articles that originated with other people.

All members can be involved in a discussion on a public forum. If you don't want others to see your public discussions, try starting a private facebook group including only the people you want to talk to, or try the private messaging feature here. Not trying to be funny, but I can find the facebook link for you if you don't already know about that feature.

So justice is not blind and the wealthy and connected get preferential treatment. Thanks for stating the obvious. Hillary is damn thankful for that double standard, as are many others of all political stripes. Let me know when the justice blindfold gets pulled back down. Until then rioting and looting cannot be excused or tolerated just because our criminally corrupt government plays favorites.
