I think it is not about someone saying "I don't believe Barack Obama is a christian" That is someones belief about another person.
More about someone saying "Barrack Obama is not christian"
Now it is not a personal belief which is a freedoms, but a accusation about someone that could be a lie.

Why worry if a person tells the truth?

When the Bush administration began their wiretapping and spying on Americans, the right wing went apeshit with the concerns of those who thought their right of privacy was being violated, claiming "if you aren't doing anything wrong, you got nothing to worry about."

a Christian. Like, "Just in case you forgot, this little
talk in our office will help you remember. Obama is a
Christian. You better not disagree. That would be a
character attack. Calling someone a liar is a character
attack. If you say Obama will not cut
taxes on the poor you would be calling him a liar.
That would be a character attack. One final thought,
your phone and e-mails will be monitored."

And if a candidate "changes his mind" on an issue, or a figure, or a date, etc...then is his current stand the truth? Is he guilty of a lie about himself? If his previous statement is quoted, is it now a lie because he changed his stand?

The very people that hate the patriot act don't have a problem with this? Bet they didn't have a problem with filegate,
either. As long as it's their truth.
 
I'd rather not have the local prosecutor and the
local sheriff coming to my doorstep to remind me
of the views of anyone running for President.
