One big mistake, that may cost Obama...
Health care. This absolutely will not pass in its present form.
Obama should have held health care until another time. During a strong recession, people are going to vote their pocketbooks, and as much as the majority of Americans may be generous...when times are tough they are not going to support a universal health care package that is in any way going to threaten what they have or increase their taxes to pay for someone else's health care.
This would only stand a chance in good time, but not a chance in bad times...unless times were much worse than they are now and there was a genuine socialist revolution (which there isn't right now).
My wish is that Obama had made energy independence his number one goal, and had taken on the oil companies, promoted the hell out of alternative energy, mandated solar panels on all federal buildings that had to be made in America by American workers, etc.
Obama blew a once in a lifetime chance to actually lead the world in alternative energy, strengthen America from within, create jobs...
Time will tell if he ever gets another chance like the one he had...
