Quote from piezoe:
Please understand that I share your concern. I consider inflation to be just another form of taxation and in some respects I prefer direct taxation to inflation if we have to have either. While we hope the Obama administration does not worsen our rather dim economic prospects, and it well could, I think you would have to agree that at least up to now the Obama administration has had very little to do with the current economic mess.
If we are going to insist on placing blame for the current economic situation, perhaps we should focus more on Greenspan, Cox, and the glee with which the former administration invaded Iraq while ignoring the counsel of our Secretary of State and those in the CIA who raised questions about the reliability of the intelligence reports. We also should give appropriate credit to the previous Congress for being a little too gullible, don't you think?
As I have posted elsewhere, Obama is just a black Bush. I know it really matters nothing which party is in the House. They are two sides of the same coin. However, the numbers, even the official ones from govt, show quite decisively that Obama has made our economy worse and has no plans to reverse his practice. Quite an accomplishment in less than a year. Lynden Johnson began the race to the bottom via exporting living-wage jobs, followed by every President through present, especially NAFTA and GATT, designed by Bush Sr. and signed into law by Bill Clinton.
Words mean nothing in politics, but smoke to confuse, impress and play with the masses, the people who pay for it all. Actions are the only measure of stature, for good or not. Obama confirmed Mr. Printing Press Bernanke this year... have you seen the money supply jump in this year alone? Yes, without a doubt, Obama is responsible for this year's inflation and the underlying loss at the dollar level. The numbers are obvious, the timing unmistakeable, the choices by design.
The people's "representatives in the House and Senate" are a joke; they are servants to the elite and their institutions, including the Fed. They have not heeded the will of the people for a long time now, and they would indeed be fools to do so, given their reward for the opposite. They make hundreds of decisions per session, of their own will and those influencing them, but the people only get to make a choice once every two years. Not that I would favor a straight democracy either, since that is a proven disaster.
Also as I have written elsewhere, I care not about politics or about the economy as a whole anymore, as me and mine are not affected by it, and it is out of my individual control. The nation I care about, the economy not at all.
Those supporting Obama have the propensity of blaming anyone but the ones at the controls. It simply doesn't fly. End.
