Tariffs are to blatant and will only force a tariff war. Especially when so much of the profits from corporations are from overseas.Quote from jem:

Tariffs will replace income tax.
Massive job growth will happen because of the true stimulus.
people will be able to afford their mortgages so property values might even go up... thereby bailing out the banks.
Important industries which employ people could be brought back home or improved.

Look at two of the successful segments of the world market. Number one and two, American Farming and Chinese manufacturing.
Both get direct subsidies from their Governments. Both fight against tariffs. Both can sell below cost to gain market share. Direct subsidies are well hidden compared to tariffs.
I would remove all taxes on domestic manufacturing.
