This has to be the most laughable argument in this entire thread. Are blacks pulled over a disproportionate number of times vs. whites, by cops? Definately. Is a disproportionate amount of crime also committed by blacks? Definately. So what is your argument? What do you propose cops do to equal out the situation, perhaps they should be pulling over 70 year old white grandma Millie pushing her two grandchildren in a baby stroller to make up for this injustice. Maybe they should designate an equal number of police officers to patrol the streets of orange county as they do to patrol compton. It is the cops' job is to find as many criminals as possible, and obviously they go to areas where there is higher crime rates to find these criminals, unfortunately for blacks the crime rate is much higher in black areas than white. My best friend is a brown Muslim, and he has been profiled at the airport time and time again because of this, i was with him once when this happened, you know who he gets mad at? He gets mad about Muslim extremists in the middle east who choose to suicide bomb buildings and kill thousands of innocents every month, because they cast a bad light on the entire muslim religion. Perhaps it is time to point the finger at the people who cause the problem, as opposed to people doing their job.
That being said, Please tell me where the racial profiling began when it was in fact a NEIGHBOUR who called the police to report this situation. It was not as if the cops just happened to be driving by and saw a black dude opening his door and decided to stop him. The bottom line is all the professor had to do was hand over his I.D., and clear up the situation and be polite, instead he decided to throw a temper tantrum about racism and insult the police officers mother.
The reason why the professor was angry was because he made a stupid assumption that the cops had seen him "breaking" into his own house, and therefore they just wanted to rough up some n%$#^. The fact remains that all the cops did was their job, they responded to a neighbours complaint that someone was breaking into the house, if you wanna label someone a racist, label the neighbour a racist, not the cops.
