Obama's 100% Right on Healthcare Reform

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

Sorry but anecdotes are not evidence.

You're right there, actually.

I'm not defending HMOs, but I would think the rational approach would be to address abuses rather than use a few tales to justify a government takeover of yet another massive industry. You may enjoy going to the motor vehicles department, dealing with the IRS and trying to deal with the Post Office. Most of us don't and wouldn't want that to become the way we get health care.

The government isn't going to "takeover" the entire industry, that's paranoia.

And given a choice between dealing with the post office and an HMO and an insurance company everybody would choose the post office, every time.

Do you know that I've never NOT gotten something someone has mailed to me in all these years, nor has someone not gotten something I've mailed them?

...even the important stuff, where either I or they would have called had it not arrived.

Not bad.

I'm not trying to knock the Post Office, but they're hardly the picture of efficiency.

I don't trust all the assurances from Obama that everything will be the same, we can choose our doctors, etc. Once government gets its nose in there, they will start dictating. It puts way too much power in politicans' hands. Costs will run wild, and rationing will be the only way to avoid going broke.
