obamanomics question...

Quote from Scataphagos:

The ONLY solution.... Unleash Capitalism and cut back on the Socialism. If we don't do that, it's all just a circle-jerk.

Will never happen, good idea but it wont happen.

Agree. The end-game for our Socialism, then, is that America and its citizens get wiped out in a storm of inflation and currency debasement. Then, with 99% of Americans bankrupt, we "reset and start over"... likely under some dictator.

What I don't understand is say that the economy was booming and unemployment was at 4% and jobs were plentiful would these infrastructure projects still have taken place???

Seems like the billions being spent are just projects that would never have been done if the economy was where it was in 2007.

At some point, they would. Old infrastructure wears and breaks down... then MUST be replaced.

Reset and start over again, that should have happened when the banks were collapsing and the credit crisis was in full bloom, but they stepped in and propped up everything to make it look like the crisis was over. Nothing like fixing the crisis with more worthless trillions.

20 minutes president speaks again about this new spending plan, should move markets in the next hour, probably to the upside.

We all know... if we don't "voluntarily accept our medicine", at some point it will be foisted upon us.. and it will be MUCH more severe. We are playing exactly that right now.

The problem is political. With there always being "an election around the corner", politicos always put off tough decisions. I recall some A-Hole politico years ago saying, "a problem postponed is a problem solved".
