  • Attorney General William Barr said he doesn’t expect the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into former President Obama or Vice President Biden, despite President Trump’s urging.
  • When asked about U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review of the Russian probe, Barr told reporters that he would not let the Justice Department be used as a weapon to “drum up” illegitimate investigations.
  • “I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” he also added.

“A Republican effort to determine who may have leaked the name of Michael Flynn in connection to his 2016 contact with the Russian ambassador has centered on the question of which Obama administration officials requested his identity be ‘unmasked’ in intelligence documents,” the Washington Post reports.

“But in the FBI report about the communications between the two men, Flynn’s name was never redacted.”
