Obamacare Upheld !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote from OccupyThis:

Not opinion. That's exactly what he did.

Yes, if we didn't have Obamacare, then we, as taxpayers, have to cover all the medical and emergency costs for those who don't. Like us paying for welfare. Remember 1975? I prefer each pay their own way, one way or another. Sounds pretty conservative to me, don't know about you. Maybe you like paying taxes to cover those with no HC, I don't. I don't like more taxes, and I prefer everyone pay their own way.

Quote from mrbill:

So much nonsense. Everyone who has health care, no changes. If you don't have it, and want taxpayers, other taxpayers, to pay for your medical care, like welfare, then fine I guess. But, if you want actual conservative values, like personal responsibility, then you want those who don't have health care to pay for it themselves - or get a fine/tax, whatever, to offset costs. How this ever got screwed around to a liberal freebie, I just don't see. And neither did Heritage or Romney. Just so easy to pull by the nose those who must follow, must follow, partisan lines. Not much thinking going on.

New businesses have one less thing to worry about, let their future hires get covered. Single payer would have been much better, but this at least helps all businesses, I know it does mine.

No thinking? Figure this then, most people who can afford and want insurance have it, they won't be paying the mandate/tax. Most people who don't have insurance can't afford it, they can't pay the tax. Other taxes are raised by the bill, now tell me, who is going to purchase the insurance for those that can't afford it?

The real nonsense is your fairy tale that nothing is going to change for those that have insurance, taxpayers will be footing the bill for the uninsured that can't afford it OR obamacare will be another huge unsustainable entitlement.. someone has to pay for the insurance for those that can't afford it, it is law that they have it. If not then what is the point of obamacare. Most importantly, Congress now has the power to tax people for doing NOTHING.. it has never happened before. Even SS is essentially an income tax, this is a tax that must be paid whether or not you even have any income/assets. The potential for these type of taxes is nearly unlimited, what is to stop Congress from declaring we must all buy electric cars or pay a tax? just one example.

You are indythink anyway, quit the fake conservative bullshit.

Do you prefer to have personal responsibility or not?

Mitt Romney used to agree

Where is the personal responsibility for those that can't afford it? THERE IS NONE. We, the taxpayer, will be purchasing insurance for those that can't afford it.

Seems to me that a case could be made for dumping your health insurance and letting obamacare foot the bill.

Many near retirees work a job primarily for that benefit alone.

obamacare gives them an incentive to quit doing so.

If people do the math I'm not sure obama will pleased with the results on the workforce.

...and this is bad because....

We are already doing that, at least this helps motivate millions to pay their own way, or face a penalty. Not a big deal.

No, you're missing the point. Yes, through Medicaid and Medicare we're already doing that explicitly. But it gets better: the average corporate employee, through his plan at work, is being paid for by the (alleged) traders on this forum.
Notice they never actually bring that up. Is that because they're not, or is that because they are - fat corporate employees sitting on their pimply, soft asses in some cubicle in some low-rent office park in suburban Peoria, working in accounts payable for Global Spring & Sprocket, and feigning faux outrage at paying for a bunch of lowlifes?
I think we both know the answer.
