then why not reform medicaid? what is the purpose of obamacare, i simply don't 'get' it? This is a power grab, passed overnight on Christmas eve, it was established for eventual control of the healthcare sector, no doubt about it. If the govt simply wanted everyone insured, they could have reformed the medicaid system, and had a much easier time doing so. Please point out what i'm missing.

The public option was an expansion of medicaid and all republacns and a few blue dog democrats were against it.

because they either disagreed that it needs to be fixed or didn't see the public option as the answer. How does deflecting the question = an answer. The dems had full control of the house, senate and presidency and could have passed any law that they wished.. why didn't THEY pass the public option? Again, what is the purpose of obamacare?

I would argue that insurance exacerbates the core problem, it doesn't fix it. In fact it will likely just make it worse in the real world.
If people really want to fix the problem, they have to fix the pricing mechanism in health care. Insurance destroys the stable pricing mechanism, so expanding insurance simply compounds the real issue.
