Obamacare To Increase Individual-Market Premiums By Average Of 41%

They left out the part about her using her obamaphone to call in.

Is this a great country or what? Health care is now free.

Maybe Obama could do something about homeowners' insurance next. I'm sick of paying for mine and would like to get someone to pick up part, OK all, of the tab for me.

No can do buck'o. That's a privilege reserved for unproductive parasites and welfare queens who have sold their soul to the democraps.

Pittsburgh woman finds incredible deal with Affordable Care Act

While most of the country haggles and laments over the busted government website for health care, Gail Roach simply picked up the phone and asked a specialist to walk her through her options.

Roach, 57, said she found plenty, and suddenly she realized she would have the opportunity to walk away from her retirement health care package that required her to pay $509 a month for her premium.

Roach has Type 2 diabetes, which drove up her costs. However, through the Affordable Care Act, she found a policy offering a monthly premium at only $70.

After cashing in on a tax credit and taking advantage of a feature called the Cost Sharing Benefit, Roach saw her premium drop to a measly $1.11 a month.

"I couldn't believe it. I just couldn't believe it. But it was within my budget," Roach said.

Now she's telling everyone who'll listen that they must exercise patience while the administration straightens out problems with the website.

"I'm telling people they need to look into it. They need to be patient about it," said Roach. "Go to the website. If you can't get on, call the number on the website and just be very patient because it's very much worth it."

Where the heck are the swiftboaters to tell everyone she's lying?

There are winner and losers in every income redistribution scheme. In the story below, these people lost so someone else could win. That's how it works.

I’ve been skeptical about media stories featuring those who claimed they would be worse off because their insurance policies were being canceled on account of the ACA. In many cases, it turns out, the consumers could have found cheaper coverage through the new health insurance marketplaces, or their plans weren’t very good to begin with. Some didn’t know they could qualify for subsidies that would lower their insurance premiums.

So I tried to find flaws in what Hammack told me. I couldn’t find any.
• The couple’s existing Kaiser plan was a good one.
• Their new options were indeed more expensive, and the benefits didn’t seem any better.
• They do not qualify for premium subsidies because they make more than four times the federal poverty level, though Hammack says not by much.

Hammack recalled his reaction when he and his wife received a letters from Kaiser in September informing him their coverage was being canceled. “I work downstairs and my wife had a clear look of shock on her face,” he said. “Our first reaction was clearly there’s got to be some mistake. This was before the exchanges opened up. We quickly calmed down. We were confident that this would all be straightened out. But it wasn’t.”

I'm not racist for pointing out that he's a liar.

I'm only referring to the white half of him.

She looks like she's part of the 2/3 of the country who is overweight or obese and I suspect some of her pre-existing conditions were brought on by her own choices regarding (poor) diet and (lack of) exercise. So yeah, she may benefit from Odumbocare since the healthy and financially responsible people will subsidize her. How come I'm about her age and my wife and I got quoted $1000/month .... we're 2 healthy people who work out daily and have no health issues? She's also probably a paid shill.

Yes, I have my doubts as well. Too bad we don't have a media to doublecheck these kinds of claims. I guess they are too busy trying to refute the claims of 15 million people who lost their coverage. Maybe they are still trying to dig up dirt on Sara Palin.

I don't know the details in the ACA, I don't have the time or care to read thousand of pages and research for weeks like it seems all on here have done. But in my opinion the preexisting condition exclusion for health insurance is a good thing. You and your wife are healthy now but you won't always be. I was in your position a few years ago and my wife got sick and then we found out we had a crap policy that fought and turned down requests for payments by the hospital. I was healthy but stuck with that company. Then I blew my knee out working. Shit happens DHOHHI and eventually it happens to most of us. I for one am for some of the things in the Obamacare. Mandatory coverage makes sense in this day where millions are tied to government health care anyway. Is there a better way of course but scrapping the whole thing isn't going to happen, it's an exercise in futility for the house republicans to put up bill after bill repealing Obamacare when they know if will go no further. We have it now that is a fact and bitching about it and wanting it to disappear will not change anything. Have the house Republicans change small things that make sense that they can get support from on the left, that's the only reasonable choice.

Just looked on line at a local insurance broker where I live and filled out the form for health insurance quotes http://www.24-7healthquote.com/ .
There were well over 100 quotes with prices from 117.85 to 993.00 , this is for one person. That's a lot of choices out there!

None of those policies look like they are ACA compliant. In fact I don't see any reference to the ACA at all.

Call em up and ask if your covered for pregnancy even though you're a 200+lb male roofer. If they say yes, then you're good to go.
