there are a lot of people that don't really care if they have insurance or not. I had exactly one insurance that would actually pay enough to make it worth it, that was in a ten year period of employer paid insurance with an employer that provided great benefits. All the other insurance didn't pay enough to make me feel good about it. After awhile one doesn't really give a rat's ass if one has insurance or not. I'm sure a lot of people with that outlook signed up to get off the hook for the penalty, just to get through the next few months with no thought at all about whether they were going to actually be insured or not. I'm sure they hate filling out forms for bureaucrats and handing over power over their lives to said bureaucrats so much that they just write "blah blah" on the forms and throw them in the general direction...

I love simplicity. I used to buy a kilo of weed, break it into ounce bags, drive across the state and sell it. I never used my real name, nobody saw my car unless they really, really tried to find it and I discouraged that. I never had to pay taxes, I didn't have to do shit with any goddam forms... Now I trade futures, at tax time I fill in the beginning balance, the ending balance, and yeah, I have to fork over some money but I love the simplicity....

I heard a radio show yesterday, two doctors were arguing whether 70% of doctors were refusing ACA or 80%... there is no way to call up, look up on a site to check whether people are actually covered

Even if it is 10 million, most likely 80% of those are being subsidized by the producers.

They can trot out all the numbers they want but there is nothing they can do to change the fact that there are 5-6 million who got there coverage cancelled and millions more who will have their insurance cancelled because of this fuckup.

Overall though, more people will be covered than were before. And people can't get dropped or denied if they're unlucky. And it won't cost any more than without it. And it solves the problem of irresponsible people running around without insurance. And anyone dropped can still sign up for a new plan that is as least as good. So what's the big deal? Oh that's right, Obama did it. He did basically what Republicans sensibly have called for and done.
