Obamacare just SCREWED my CORPORATE Medical Plan

I am an IT contractor who works for a company. The primary reason I chose to go with company rather than as an independent is to get an excellent medical insurance plan for my family.

I normally select the top-end 100% coverage EPO plan that costs the most. It has the lowest co-pays for visits, drugs, etc.

Today is the start of open enrollment - I received a note that my EPO plan has been discontinued in 2014 because "Our goal is to transition to a more cost effective plan that is closely aligned with Health Care reform mandates." - and that I need to pick a plan that provides LESS coverage (80% PPO plan) and higher costs out of my pocket.

Thanks for SCREWING ME, Obama.

I think my annual open enrollment is in the next several months. I assume I'll find out then how bad Obama's socialism train wreck is going to fuck us.

I can understand discontinuing a plan if it did not meet the minimum requirements to comply with ACA -- But to eliminate the top plan because it is too good for ACA is absurd!

Welcome to Obamacare - You are only allowed to have SHITTY insurance. No good insurance plans allowed.

No doubt some people will be very happy now that they can get healthcare at your expense.

This is what redistribution looks like.

The only way this kind of communism will stop is when the people revolt, and restore the US Constitution to law. Until then, we'll all be grabbing our ankles for king Onazi.

...Today, the Obama administration announced that they would not use information gathered from Obamacare applications to enforce immigration laws. Translation: illegal immigrants will get Obamacare coverage paid for by the American taxpayers.

Somebody in the Obama administration owes Rep. Joe Wilson an apology.

Today, the White House finally admitted that Obama’s promise, “If you like your plan you can keep it” was simply not true. The number of people who will have their plans cancelled will be in the millions, and President Obama knew it all along.

from NBC:

President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.

Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC NEWS that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a “cancellation” letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience “sticker shock.”

None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be “grandfathered,” meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don’t meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date — the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example — the policy would not be grandfathered...
