I think folks need to take a look at the very low costs that active and retired military families pay now for medical care. Most people working in the private or public sector pay a $200 to $300 insurance co-pay for family medical care per month; the military is much less. Most families are paying much more than $3 co-pay each time they get a prescription.
In my opinion the healthcare co-pay payments for military families need to go up; their payments are absurdly low compared to the insurance plans that the rest of us are part of.
And please, note that this has nothing to do with medical care for wounded soldiers and veterans - which is not part of these associated military medical plans. I believe that wounded soldiers and veterans should be treated at 100% government cost with no money out of their pockets.
