Yes, maybe. The exchange for that offshore tax is to make permanent of the research and development tax. So is Obama trying to make USA a competitive producer again, to create jobs?

This will simply drive U.S. corporations out of the United States. There's no law that says a corporation has to be chartered in Delaware.

Of course, there's another way to make corporations comply without the coercion of government - lower our taxes so that the burden is roughly equal to the other countries in which these corporations operate so that they are indifferent to where they pay taxes. But, hey, then there's no blood, right?
 
Potentially $190B in now taxable profits to further depress earnings and the market roars. Could it be they know its never going to happen and that it is just news to keep the Obama dittoheads salivating at what they have been fooled in to thinking is going to be redistributed.
