Maureen Mollineaux, who has attended St. Juliana's for years and regards herself as a practicing Catholic, says that, "I was using birth control when I was of childbearing age. I understand the party line, but I don't know anybody in my generation that wasn't doing exactly as I was. I understand that they have to do this - follow the party line - but it's absurd.
"It's not as if this is the Catholic church's biggest problem. I'm surprised the President caved. It seemed like a good compromise to me. Look, all kinds of people work in facilities run by the Catholic church - nursing homes, schools, hospitals. Should those people who work there but who aren't Catholics be held to the same standards as Catholics? They're Americans first."
