Obama to announce fix for canceled health plans

Quote from PiggyBank:

true to form, this weasel sheds blame and puts it back on the insurance companies. Somehow he hasn't been called out for saying that he is going to change the law so people can keep their plan. lol the insurance companies already dropped people, they probably can't go back, those plans are gone. and how does he change the law by himself?

He is...the ONE. I'd like to know that myself. I guess the King thinks he can just change laws with the wave of his hand. He screwed the pooche and is now looking for an out. Gutless bastard just can't man up and take the hit.

Quote from Grandluxe:

It's a 1 year extension only. What a mess...

Some of the insurers were carping about delays... were counting on the increased revenues from Obamacare. Wonder if they will game the situation or just let policies be renewed... ??

to be honest i'm not sure he said he would "change the law", cause i wasn't really paying attention and he just keeps blabbing on. But he did say something about allowing State insurance commissioners to decide if individual policies can stay.. in other words, ignore the ACA grandfather clause, aka the LAW. Insurance companies will take the blame for this in the media because they make out like bandits by dumping non-comprehensive plans for obamacare rape plans, and even if they could, they're not gonna go back.

Quote from Ricter:

The outcry over cancelled plans is solid evidence of how much value people put on health insurance. So bringing millions of the previously uninsured on board is a very good thing for the country.

Space cadet post of the day.

(CNSNews.com) - If you like your insurance plan, maybe you can keep it after all, for another year, President Obama told the American people on Thursday.

He said people may keep individual plans that haven't already been canceled; or they may buy similar ones, if they're available -- even if those plans don't meet the coverage and cost requirements of Obamacare, as the law says they must.

But insurers can't sell those old plans to new customers. That's the main difference between Obama's administrative "fix" and the legislative fix House Republicans plan to bring up for a vote on Friday.

Obama also told insurance companies who issue the old policies that they must try to steer people to the Obamacare health exchanges.

Critics pounced even before the president spoke: "There’s only one institution that can change the law: Congress," the Heritage Foundation blogged. "President Obama’s 'plan' attempts to ignore them entirely. The president’s proposal is but the latest in a long line of waivers and unilateral changes made in a futile attempt to repair an inherently unworkable law."

Healthcare.gov isn't going to be fixed by the end of November. Yet, that's the least of the Obama administration's worries concerning their epic failure in rolling out their new health care law. Bloomberg's Megan McArdle apty noted that only "hope" would be able to save Obamacare.

With the system collapsing, pundit George Will said last night that a critical component of Obamacare's success - young people - is running away in "rational terror."

Not in the mind of the emperor and his minions. The great one speaks, and it is law. Have you learned nothing over the past 5 years? Perhaps a stay in a leftist re-education camp will get your mind right. No doubt, it's covered under Obamacare.

IF ONLY I could sign up for it in the first place.

How long would I have to stay in one of those camps anyway? It might be fun just fucking with their stupid asses. I am assuming they serve beer, of course.

Piggy it was always up to the insurance companies to sell and cancel policies and how to price them not the presidents. It was stupid for Obama to make that promise or he was just flat out lying, you would think someone would of told him they can't stop the insurance companies from canceling policies or raising prices on non compliant policies. He could not of enforced the promise even if law was written differently.
