#@%^, if I had thought there was even 5% of the voters really behind him I would have. But a third of his supporters were libtards who were so anti-war they liked him. Just imagine what would have happened to their support when he talked about eliminating welfare. Another third were troofers who wanted an endless series of investigations until it was learned that Bush personally wired the WTC for demolition. This group was also mostly composed of people who would be very much against any other domestic policy put forth by the libertarians.
A big chunk of the remaining third would have been those #@&^ whitestorm losers. Or stormfront. Or something.
Most of his support would have switched to Obama, and a big chunk of the rest would be behind bars. Perot was a shoe-in compared to Ron Paul.
Do not think for a microsecond that there is any political will at all to support smaller government. Sure, the candidates all talk up cutting taxes and reducing government. But when you compare the budget to taxes paid, you'll see that over 90% of us don't pay our share. The vast majority of voters are moochers. They're happy if you take the food from the other guy's dog bowl, but don't you touch theirs!
Government is getting bigger. The debt will increase along with taxes. There's no stopping this evil beast. The best you can do is to slow it down, and run faster (and smarter) than the other guys so they get eaten first. Kinda sucks for the next few generations, but the trend says they'd be even bigger spenders than we were. So they deserve it in spades.
