Obama Plans Smear Campaign To Keep White House

Barack Obama’s aides and advisers are preparing to center the president’s reelection campaign on a ferocious personal assault on Mitt Romney’s character and business background, a strategy grounded in the early-stage expectation that the former Massachusetts governor is the likely GOP nominee.

“Unless things change and Obama can run on accomplishments, he will have to kill Romney,” said a prominent Democratic strategist aligned with the White House.

That pretty much sums things up, really. No more complicated than that - blaming Bush and the Tea Party will only go so far with Independents it would seem. The other thing is that he simply will not get the level of first time voters he got in 2008.
 
Politico blogs are buzzing about Emanuel and Orszag six months into his term begging and pleading with Obama to ignore Pelosi and scale back health care legislation to a nationalized inter-state insurance policy exchange along with a tort settlement oversight panel.
 
Hype from noise makers, and intellectually confused republicans. The people will remember the last republican presidency as long as they live. I do not think there is a need to remind the people of the record of the W. two term presidencies ( War on the wings of lies, market collapse, from surplus to indebtedness, from moral greatness to practice of torture. from plenty of jobs to joblessness).

Should we also add the recent disaster from the republicans: costing the US a downgrade from the S&P, and a loss of 20% of market cap.

Don't you people realize how stupid the republican policies are? Look at the numbers.

The only problem is that O. campaigned on a bunch of "change" and all that we've seen is a continuation of the status quo. In fact, that get's to the very heart of why he has alienated just about everyone outside of those who are still so consumed with their hatred of Bush, that they still can't see straight nearly 3 years later.

You don't seem to understand that both parties have been busy digging this grave that we are in.

Wherever he's writing from, he's right. Except for one point. We did not go from "surplus to indebtedness". We went from surplus and indebtedness to deficit and indebtedness.
