Obama on Baltimore: We must prioritize the fight against urban poverty

6 decades of democratic rule in baltimore, and supposedly republicans are the racists who are holding black people down, lol.

3 of the 6 officers charged with murder or manslaughter of Freddie Gray are black. Damned racists.

Apparently, the progressive way to handle riots is to let them destroy as much private property as they want and to beat up as many whites as they want.

Then have the state's attorney convene a lynch mob for the police officers who had the bad luck to arrest a thug.

Then whine about racism and lack of money and jobs. The only remotely appealing part of Baltimore was the Inner Harbor area around the stadiums. Who in their right mind will ever go back there? When it came to choosing between protecting innocent people and coddling rioters, the mayor sided with the rioters.

It is now officially the Detroit of the Mid-Atlantic.

Commerce, property value and security will go into free-fall.

The only real reason to go to Baltimore has been Johns Hopkins University. When i lived in central Maryland the choice was to either drive to Baltimore to attend JHU or drive into DC and attend Georgetown or George Washington University. One look at Baltimore and I enrolled at GWU. The contrast was almost 1st world vs. 3rd world.

Honestly, the only thing on the east coast that looks worse than Baltimore is parts of Philadelphia.

I got lost driving around Baltimore once leaving an Orioles game and it was beyond scary. Block after block of third world poverty, decaying houses, etc. The HBO series The Wire depicted it very accurately. It is literally not safe to walk around downtown Baltimore in the day time, much less at night. And their solution is that the police should not be so aggressive. They might as well just disband the police force and put a high fence around the city.
