Obama needs to be a dad, not a friend...

I AGREE! My bad. I meant "no diff" in the Nov election results NOT in who would be better prepared for these economic challenges.

Quote from eagle:

I agree on most of them except on this point. With both business and governor experiences, I think he would handle the current crisis much more comfortable. Thing could be different such as instead of taking the advice from the experts (Bernanke, Paulson and Geithner) as Bush and Obama were doing; he might be able to give them some advice to handle the issue. There is nothing wrong with Obama, he's just new in this domain, but I'm sure this situation won't make Romney panicked.

Haven't you heard, all parents are to be friends first and parents second. Another disaster given to us by the left, particularly the dime store psychologists that permeate accademia.
Lack of leadership starts in the home, presuming there is anyone there to lead at all. The radical left has made every attempt to dismantle the family structure and have done so quite successfully.

oh. you must mean we should emulate people like rush with 3 divorces or palin with an unmarried child who is a mother.

Christians or Non-Christians, Divorce Rate Remains Unchanged
35 percent of married born-again Christians have been divorced at least once – the same percentage as among married adults who are unbelievers

If anything regarding Rush and Palin, those examples should mean you love those two for that behavior.

Unless that is you don't believe in your own party's culture.

What Obama essentially did was use a fairly large audience to garner further public support for his stimulus plan. That was the principal topic of discussion. And he did so without paying for air time. He was already in California anyway. This thread is a non-issue one way or the other. I fail to see the point of it. First, his critics are calling him an elitist, and now the very same people are criticizing his effort to connect with people. Make up your minds, eh?

Let the man genuinely screw up badly and deny it before taking him to task with all this prefabricated righteous indignation.

Quote from BosyBillups:

I'm all for a hip young president. I'm all for him filling our his brackets, and using blackberries. I'm all for one who is with pop culture.

But Jay Leno? Come on bro. Jay Leno Show? What's next, Conan O'brien?

It's cool to have a fresh perspective and president... but how fresh is it? And how cool is it?

During this economic 9/11 as some have called it, we have a president trying to tackle too much, trying to be too hip, and it's getting a bit scary. Yes, the economic mess is out of his hands and soon people will realize the Gov't can't help us out of this mess... but still, we need a father figure for this country.

Mitt Romney is a dad figure. Not to say that he would do better than Obama, but he's one who seems more about business, and less about fun.

As such, in this environment, no matter how uncool it might be to say, I would rather have a president be more like my dad, than a friend.

Rant over.
another bitch boy cries the blues, be a man. well unless your gay then i understand
