Obama Is Decimating Our Air Superiority

Quote from pspr:

Mvector, this thread has nothing to do with drones in America. Why don't you go start your own thread about drones?
Are you that stupid - drones increasing under obama is the new alternative to standard aircraft in the military.

Get with the program and start thinking for yourself for a change - stop being so blind you cant see real trends.

Quote from AAAintheBeltway:

I have some doubts that we should be investing hundreds of billions more in high tech fighters. Of course, the generals want them. What bureaucracy doesn't want to spend more on itself? But we can't really afford it.

If they were essential to our security, of course we'd have to find a way. But are they? Are we really planning on going to war with China? We can buy hundreds, maybe thousands of drones for the cost of one fighter, plus we don't have to train a pilot and agonize over what hapopens to them if they're captured.

We need to stay ahead of the curve and not waste a lot of money on 20th century weapons systems. We can have semi-submersible missile barges that are remotely piloted and which can launch hundreds of cruise missiles. Of course the Navy brasss prefer hugely expensive ships. After all, that's the way it was done in WW II.

We find, once again, point of agreement on this. It's always nice to have the latest in weaponry, but do we really need it. What was the movie with Chevy Chase, where they had 'Luck Up" airlines and others fighting over each other's technology? Can't remember?

Drones don't command air superiority. It is air superiority that allows drones to operate.

We have no "fighter drones" you dolt!

Why don't you think for yourself and quit posting all this tripe from infowars.com? Are they paying you or something?

Wrong - if you have read any of the future "Air - Land Battle" docs or seen any of the Air Force think tank groups papers, it all points to a decreasing role for manned aircraft in "all roles" to include air superiority. The consensus is, that long range missle development launched from "stand off" drones will be more cost effective to destroy opposing air superiority aircraft.

Bootm line - they want more DRONES!

There is a "specific" reason why they want more drones - and their own docs state the reason - it is pretty messed up too. I will let you figure out how to find the reality of their agenda with drones.

Drones are not capable of air to air combat and won't be for some time to come. Until that time arrives we had better keep our manned fighter technology edge.

Read some Janes.

We're not spending enough on our military. We only spend 47% of the entire world's military budget. We need another 3% to make it an even 50.

Funny how Russia and China can defend themselves and nobody fucks with them and they only spend around 100 billion a year on defense, yet we spend over 700 billion a year and Mitt Romney wants to spend more

You're a drone. And an idiot if you "think" war can be automated.
