Obama Is A Marxist And Fanatical

Quote from Ricter:

Yes, I read that in wikipedia, too. "Polluting" is overstating it, the Pope thought Marx's secular determinism was at odds with the church's theological determinism. Yep, it is. If you read the whole article you no doubt noted the similarity in perspective between Christ and Marx, they viewed the world through the eyes of the poor, primarily.

The Church felt it was "polluting" when the marxist message became anti - hierachy.

Oddly it is probably that part of the message that is partially correct... but off.

So if you examine the Gospel you might conclude Jesus had problem with ideas, sin or people who get between God and his people...particularly children.

Jesus had a problem with the Sadducees who amoung other things turned the temple yard into a business and made a profit before people could make sacrifice to God.

Jesus had a problem with Pharisess who were putting man made laws of Rabbi's between God's word and the people.

I do not see that message a a socioeconomic message. It is a don't prevent people for getting to know their God message.

Quote from Ricter:

You're 100% correct in your first two sentences. Sentence three... yes, but! I think a case can be made that if the socioeconomic gap is growing, if extremes of stratification are becoming the norm, than Jesus's message is being ignored. Probably because the first focus you mentioned is being ignored.

I think you might be right.

Well, we're aware of at least one statement Jesus made which pertains directly to the socioeconomic. ; )

I can think of two... but in context they seem to be about the fact that it is not possible for man but is possible with God.
