They tried and FAILED, which was Kennedy's doing. Sure, the Bay of Pigs was a mistake but JFK stood up against the real threat - the Soviets - and They Backed Down.

Can you post a link so I could read the treaty?
 
I am beginning to believe that maybe secret agreements are made. I was watching a debate on TV a few weeks ago with three journalists. It was about border security, illegal immigrants and amnesty etc. One of the journalists, a woman, said that the Bush league had a deal with then president Vicente Fox to give US oil companies access to Mexican oil in situ and financially in exchange for amnesty and a guest worker program, both of which could lead to citizenship. What I thought interesting was that none of the other participants nor the presenter, challenged the assertion.

That is hilarious! One of the best SNL moments...

Let's just hope he doesn't try to be The Continental while in the Oval Office. That's already been done, to disastrous effect...
