But is she proud that her ancestors thought up the idea of compulsory voting (along with democracy)?
Well, democrats have pretty much already instituted mandatory voting in democrat urban precincts. In fact, they routinely get 100% participation, all voting for the democrat candidates. Kind of reminds one of the old Soviet Union elections.

However, having "everybody vote" is clearly a bad concept.
Voters should be limited to those (a) with "skin in the game" and (b) who have passed a civics exam... including the US Constitution.
