Obama Executive Amnesty Will Lead To Citizenship For Illegals

In layman's terms Obama cannot grant citizenship by executive order, but he can grant amnesty to every single illegal alien. Amnesty in this case meaning forgiveness of any and all crimes as it relates to illegals having come here illegally. Obama cannot change the law all by himself which means the next second after he would grant amnesty the illegals would once again be here illegally. In short, he can push a re-set button.
His actions are nothing but political gamesmanship in an attempt to goad republicans into another government shutdown. That happens and then we have more bullshit late night closed door deals, plenty of pork spread around, some lame ass deal to speed up the citizenship process, another couple hundred feet of fence and a few new laws which won't be enforced, all of which will do nothing to stop the tide of illegals. They'll all come out smacking each other on the back claiming a great bipartisan agreement. Plantation America is right around the corner.

That is not my understanding. He is planning on giving them green cards. That means they are legal residents with the right to work, and of course, by virtue of being hispanic, they already have more rights under the law than people whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower.

Now a court may rule that he lacked authority to legalize them, but that is a longshot. Would a court want to deal with the question of how can you take away their rights when they acted in reliance on a presumably valid government policy? Far easier to say it is a political question and not justiciable.

Obama’s immigration overhaul could put burden on state

President Obama’s looming announcement on major changes to the U.S. immigration system could take a financial and economic toll on the states, some critics say – as undocumented residents come out of the shadows and, in some cases, become eligible for benefits.

The White House has not confirmed the details or the timing of the president’s executive action plan, but the president has vowed to act before year’s end. As Fox News reported on Wednesday, the president could act as early as next week – and a draft document calls for giving millions of illegal immigrants a deportation reprieve as part of that plan.

This would immediately raise questions about the impact on states where illegal immigrant populations are concentrated.

"State and local governments and taxpayers will pay the price if President Obama takes immigration into his own hands,” Republican Texas state Sen. Kelly Hancock told FoxNews.com in a statement.

I'm not saying he will give them blanket amnesty for crimes committed, (illegal entry to the country), but he can if he wants to. Yes, he'll give them green cards and weaken an already pitiful deportation program. And yes, he's looking to give them most if not every right of an American citizen as well. It is the intention of the left to do away with the citizenship status altogether. They don't even want the undocumented status to be used as identification. They want the term "resident" to be the law of the land and what it will take to prove residency will be simple. I'm here, therefore I'm a resident, and a newly self proclaimed resident will be entitled to everything any other resident is regardless of how and when they arrived here. There will be no American citizens, only residents of North America is the ultimate goal.

I too am disappointed the reps won't be shutting down government again.
and just how was your life disrupted during the shutdown? They ought to shut down the whole government and open it up on an "as needed" basis. Send the whole military home to spend time with their family and tell them, "We'll call you if there is a war."

You don't have a real clear picture of what government does, do you?

tell me, what does government do? They send out checks, the receive checks on Apr 15. They name bridges.

Give me a clear picture of what government does

and while you are at it, can you, or any man on the street or Christmas shopping at the mall tell me what exactly it is the Department of Education does?

I got a pretty decent public education before they ever were invented

It's not possible to make anything clear to you. That much is obvious.
