That being said, H1N1 doesn't seem to to be much harsher than typical flu except for the side effects. It effects those with a weaker immune system, the frail elderly and very young a lot harder.

I agree - - from what I have researched as a lay person - - that the flu cases that I have heard about personally don't seem to be any worse than any other flu. As reported in local papers and by people I know who have gotten the flu or have kids that have done so.
Everyone has to weigh the evidence and make their own decisions. Its not a lib or conservative issue IMO. Back in '76 a Rep was in office. Regards & Good luck, - - - -

No I'm not a physician but I know personally most of the local doctors and nurses. If you would have read my earlier post, this point was clarified.
And they do still confirm the cases either at the request of the patient or some of the more creative local labs are comparing know local case samples. They do this since the CDC is telling them that it isn't necessary to send them in.
Current CDC confirmed cases in my local area are now standing at 12 but I personally know 65 doctor confirmed cases from my son's school, church and the YMCA groups I belong.
