whole of early 90s, bin laden was in africa and shifted to afganistan only in late 90s. whole of early 90s, US ally Pakistan was propping and cultivating Talibian in Afganistan and US was all along winking to the development and graduation of Afganistan into a terrorism stronghold.

Just remembered. When The Saudi royal family invited USA to protect Saudi Arabia, Osama bin laden offered the saudi royal family that he will invite/call his mujahideen fighters who had defeated the Russians, to protect Saudi Arabia. But the saudi royal family rejected Osama bin laden's offer. That is how USA and Osama war started.
