I agree. Look, politics is about convincing people your side is right and the other is wrong. If the republicans can't do that in this case, they deserve to lose. How hard is it for Boehner to go on TV and say we are not apologizing for trying to prevent the country from going bankrupt?
They should pass a bill that pays the military, SS and medicare and to hell with the rest.
Of course, the republicans' position would be far stronger if they were demanding pullouts from our various military misadventures, new and old. As Ron Paul points out, we can't afford an empire. The money we are wasting in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya dwarfs the amounts they are arguing over.

End both wars now,300 billion a year max on defense,end the Bush tax cuts and bring all other spending back to 2000 levels.
