Not to mention building anything in the US is infinitely more bureaucratic and political. Imagine the shit that has to be wade through to get this done - eminent domain suits, site studies, environmental studies, urban planning studies, community group meetings and approvals, union negotiations, state/county agreements. By the time they break ground, half the money would already be wasted on the bullshit.
