Obama became US Senator in Jan '07. He helped create the mess he inherited. There wasn't a single spending bill he didn't like. That ain't right-wing propaganda, that's fact, pal!Quote from trefoil:
I had thought people would give Obama those first two years to straighten out the far larger mess he inherited.

It's an indication of extreme partisanship to not at all acknowledge the seriousness of the situation when Obama took office. None of you on the right will give a nod to that, except of course when you're lambasting Goldman Sachs.
Take a look at that chart: the dip in negative job creation was way below what it was under Reagan. If you zoom into 2009 (there's a link in my post with the charts; not sure if there's one in Petsamo's), you'll see that Jan '09, the last month before Obama took office, this measure was below -3, well worse than the worst that Reagan had to face. It continued down until July, then reversed and began the trek to the zero line.
First he had to stabilize, then reverse the awful situation he faced when he took office. He's done that.

Porkulous instead of infrastructure... that was the moment we knew there would be no jobs and no real economic recovery.
Threatening cap and trade instead of a balanced budget. Thats when we no there would be no useful change.
Could you imagine how many jobs would have been created if he took health care costs away from companies?
