Obama and his plan on "Proprietary Trading" Will it affect our Future ?

The past few days I've been hearing and reading about it...it sounds scary, should I be worried ? Im a beginner trader, but this doesnt sound too good.

Should I consider a career change because of what he';s saying and doing ? Wall St. will never be the same again ?

This is about "them - the sell side" not "us - the buy side".


Traders/owners run the world. We can't be stopped.:cool:


The sell side has been on the run for a decade. The information age will put them out of business eventually. Or at least make them the small frys.:D

I really doubt that retail traders will see much if any change. Maybe you'll have a harder time if you're trying to trade exotic OTC derivatives, swaps, mortgage-backed securities or something, but for run-of-the-mill stocks, futures, options, FX I doubt there will be any observable impact in terms of volume or trading opportunities.
