Oanda - Add Your SCAM SCREENS Here

Not seen this one before, it's certainly concise!

Lots of people experiencing connection problems on Oanda today....

Today I can't reach Oanda for five hours because the server did not work. Thanks God I didn't have open positions in this time, but what about people who had... and without S\L. How do you think maybe it's cheating. If you have open position without S\L (many people do it, especiaally scalpers) you can loose all money for a few hours. Or it's just server problem???????????

Seems quite a lot of people had a problem yesterday around 10am EST, but at least Oanda acknowledged it this time instead of saying "everything is fine our end, try clearing your java cache"....

Yeah, this is bad. On a day like today to be completely shut out of the system - pisses me off something fierce.

There seems to be a trend developing, exceptionally volatile markets = Oanda platform disconnections, coincidence? Hmmm....

....Going by their performance of the past couple of weeks though it seems Oanda have finally got their act together, I'm just hoping it lasts because when they're like this they really are the best out there for pretty much every trading style, even scalping!

Oh well, that lasted about a week!

2.5 hours uptime, 3 trades, 37 pips, going well..... then.....3.5 hours with no connection

This isn't annoying any more, it's just farcical....is Stumm running the Oanda server from his bedroom on an old Amstrad 464 or something, lol

You're implying there's some evil method behind this. I think it's just incompetance on their part. Volatile markets see more users logging on with increased frequency, and they don't seem to have the systems to support it. I doubt very much they're doing it on purpose, as volatile markets are when users lose the most money and make the most transactions (thereby giving them the pip spread).

Incidently, I got in 5 minutes after that post, and have been in ever since.

Maybe you're right, if that's the case then it's about time they reviewed the way they provide the most important part of their service.....keeping customers connected to the Oanda servers so they can trade! This reminds me of the 'issues' they had a couple of years ago across every single NFP release.

I think it has more to do with their liquidity providers, if Oanda have difficulty hedging clients positions in certain market conditions then what other choice do they have than to turn their toys off and take the ball home.
