Easy. They're either newbies who are scared and want to lock in profits or it's someone caught wrong the other way and wants to uptick/downtick the stock in his favor.

i probably sit right next to one. but in all fairness a short squeeze hurts. and sometimes the guy will reload once or twice and then disappear. if you are confident then just trade the chart. but i do agree, they hack the trade. and if you are watching the guy step, what?.... you have a bid out there??? yeah riiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!!!!!!! try trading more illiquid stocks, you will get more bang for your buck.
