nyse / nasdaq equity list

just wondering if anyone had a txt file of nyse and or nasdaq stocks? or even just sectors...that way I dont have to copy them out 1 by 1? lol

you can also access them programatically in tradelink like :

thats almost what i was looking for. i was hoping to get just the symbols, i dont need the company name and stuff.

A good source is:

http://screener.finance.yahoo.com/newscreener.html

You can select on whatever criteria you want and then download all the results by choosing "export to spreadsheet." You can then edit the resulting .csv file with a text editor or use Excel.

whatever source you use, just import it into excel as a delimited file... then you can copy/paste just the symbol column or sector column... or whatever you need.
