What Leftists never seem to understand if you create a hostile business environment, companies look elsewhere for their headquarters such as Amazon and local business expansion plans get deferred or placed elsewhere as well.
High taxes, high regulatory burden, and a corporate death penalty for politically motivated prosecutions sends a pretty strong message to business leaders. Too bad in most cases in takes the lost of jobs and the economic opportunities that go along with it before voters send a strong message to their politicians.
They don't care because their only concern is hanging onto power, no matter how badly they hurt the city, state, country etc. The republicans are no better but as an all white party, they still have a quaint fascination of things like the Rule of Law, Due Process and Freedom of Speech. And they discreetly conduct their sellouts in expensive steakhouses on K Street, over cocktails and some excellent red wine. Not out in the open like a drug dealer.

On national level politics, I have yet to come across anything that would contradict your statement. On the local level, I have seen otherwise with connected community leaders where they actually care about their constituents. It is too bad these community leaders tend to be ineffective, sometimes having to deal with national politician issues as well.

Sounds a bit exclusive. Making plans and decisions based upon Conservative principles instead of Liberal emotionalism tricks can benefit a wide range of people who want to improve their lives. It is a shame that many who are brought up in the getto and or by disfunctional parents have a much lower probability of success, happiness, or security. I identify with these people because my personal upbringing was in the getto by a disfunctional, substance abusing, drug dealing, prostituting, welfare mom. Even worse, the Democrats are benefiting politically by keeping their constituents down. Why else would conditions remain the same or actually get worse over time for their supporters in long term Democratic strongholds? Although I understood this to be the case for quite some time now, only recently have I come to realize the specific mechanism the Democrats use to accomplish this. I will go into detail on this and propose new workable solutions in response to another thread in the near future.
