NY Cop Slowdown

We have one or two brethren here getting things a bit mixed up.
Whether or not the NYC cops made a mistake isn't the issue in the cop slowdown.

The issue is that the mayor of NYC has declared war on the entirety of the NYPD.
I'd be turning my back and writing fewer tickets, etc., too, if I was a cop in NYC.

You just can't let a mayor run over and run down an entire department.
That's a very stupid and a very dangerous thing for a mayor to do.
It puts all the cops, good and bad, in jeopardy of their lives.

BTW...the cops and the military are in charge, any time they want to be.
In this country, we just pretend that they aren't.
The boy with the biggest gun is always in charge, (when they choose to be).

I'm grateful for the police and I respect the military but I would say that neither is "in charge".

It is the reason the government is so fearful of the population. The elephant in the room is the 100 million armed citizens with at least a passing familiarity with the constitution. They are in charge. Literally.

Don't blame the mayor, blame the union for the slowdown.
